MrT Street Eatery Launches in Hawthorn
This new diner/eatery MrT Street Eatery in Hawthorn is to be raved about following Dean’s previous sensation in Croydon. Seriously good burgers, tasty and innovative little plates, awesome fried chicken (including whole boneless chicken), vegan options and much more including tapas, wine cocktails and craft beer.
Daniel and David went out to Hawthorn to experience the uniqueness, innovation and high quality of MrT Street Eatery.
A highlight is the Nduja Donut which is turning heads, featuring Beef fat donut, Nduja, confit pork belly, pickled green, salsa verde.
Burgers at MrT Street Eatery in Hawthorn are off the charts. The Double Mr T Bacon Burger is Melbourne’s best burger in our opinion, featuring home ground Cape Grim Beef (how do they do it for the price?) as well as premium Uncle’s Smallgoods bacon and quality pickle. A point of distinction is their delicious bacon jam, which sets off the burger.
Another highlight for us was the Mr T Famous Nashy Hot Chicken Sandwich - surely one of the best chicken burgers in Melbourne with its crispy thigh, sweet vinegar slaw, pickle, smoked garlic mayo, and nashy seasoning. Choose your spice level wisely, although we recommend "hot".
Fried Chicken Toast is a unique adventure into super tasty indulgence, referencing in a fun way the popularity of prawn toast.
We also salivated over Bacon Mac N Cheese Croquettes, featuring panko crumbed mac n cheese, bacon, MrT sauce, and jalapeno pickle.
All washed down with local craft beer. Highly recommended.
