"There's no wrong way to eat this — that's the whole point," said Betty's Head of Culinary, Jonathan Alston. "Some people will measure every drizzle of hot honey. Others will drown it. We built The Drizzler to work either way, because everyone does it differently — and our research shows the country is genuinely split on which camp they're in."
Betty's has leaned into the split with two personas built around the launch: Type A, for the measured, no-mess eater with honey evenly distributed and every bite engineered to perfection, and The Mukbanger, for maximum sauce and maximum mess.

The state-by-state breakdown makes for interesting reading. South Australia has come out on top - or bottom, depending on how you look at it — as Australia's messiest eating state, with 43.9% admitting they end up messy with fried or saucy food. Western Australia sits at the opposite end, with 44.6% identifying as "perfect bite" eaters, making it the country's most disciplined state.
Victoria wasn't singled out in the state breakdown, which, depending on your read, either means Melburnians are refreshingly average at the table or simply too busy arguing about the right way to eat a parma to make headlines.
It's Not Just About the Food
The research suggests table manners carry weight well beyond the plate. More than a third of Australians (37%) say table manners have played a role in judging, or being judged on, a date, and almost one in five women (17%) admit to being the ones doing the judging.
Social media's influence is significant too: 49% of Australians say social media has changed how they eat in some way, and almost three in ten (29%) have ordered a menu item purely because they saw it online.
