So Frenchy, So Chic Melbourne with Cointreau

So Frenchy, So Chic Melbourne is a feature on the culinary calendar, held at Werribee Park in Melbourne's West. We were invited by Cointreau to enjoy a VIP area  and celebrate the Cointreau Margarita Kombi’s visit to So Frenchy So Chic in Melbourne.

The ultimate pop-up bar on wheels is in the configuration of a retro VW kombi and served complimentary Original and Spicy Margaritas for us to enjoy. The backdrop of Werribee Mansion is always spectacular. The entertainment at SFSC has always been a highlight and we were treated to Pi Ja Ma, Gaspard Royant, and Suzane & Kalika, who flew over from France to bring us their vibrant music.

Over the years, this festival has showcased over 50 of France’s top talent, including FEFE, Yelle, The Dø, Clara Luciani, Nouvelle Vague, Lou Doillon, Nadéah, Brigitte, Deluxe, Camille, Bertrand Belin, and La Femme … just to name a few. They work with local artists, too — in 2021 they launched Yè-Yè 2.0, a project that saw Australian female singers record interpretations of 1960s French pop hits in a series of EPs released on streaming platforms.

SFSC also initiated a unique collaboration between FEFE and Melbourne funk band Cookin’ On 3 Burners. With a fresh lineup of French performers and gourmet food in 2023, So Frenchy So Chic has established itself as the poshest picnic in the Southern Hemisphere.

We were also able to sample the French cuisine on offer, including Calamari, Oysters, Banh Mi (well, there is a baguette) and more.
