Terra Rossa has an impacting stylish European ambience and is a great restaurant bar to visit on Flinders Lane. Housed in the Swiss House building it keeps its rustic exterior while has a superbly renovated interior.
The place is full of character and dare I say, very Melbourne. With several chandeliers, a warm inviting fireplace with wood stacked high, Chesterfield couches, classy timber tables and chairs, a long bar with timber and marble top, and exposed brick, Terra Rossa is a superb venue.
The menu is impressive for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I want to explore the menu more but just stopped in for breakfast before work. The Cheddar melt on sourdough was just what I felt like, together with a large strong latte.
Other options included the big breakfast Big Time or Eggs Benedict or Pancakes. Lunch options include a Meat Board, Antipasti, Pasta, Pizza and various mains such as Slow Cooked lamb shoulder and Chargrilled T-bone.
A $16 express lunch menu looks attractive including a Chargrilled porterhouse steak.
This was my first visit and I was taken by the inviting atmosphere. Note to self was to return again. A European ambience appeals to me and I love the dark timbers.
A long table near the entrance is filled with small pebbles and has a glass top. There is an intriguing artistic sculpture of horses above it. Terra Rossa has style.
Terra Rossa also has been running Appreciation Sessions for foodies and has deals for members. This restaurant looks like an ideal place for functions.
A great find.
