Gypsey and Musquito has become a much celebrated cafe on Bridge Rd Richmond. It is a true foodie haven featuring modern Australian dishes with seasonal and Aussie ingredients. This is food with flair. The service and the coffee is also outstanding. You can tell these guys are passionate about what they do and it shows in every aspect. Find this place often packed especially on weekends.

What many may not realise is that there are several cool areas to dine. While the downstairs section has a great vibe there is a superb upstairs section with two outstanding small dining rooms. You can check out the views out the window on to Bridge Road. And there is also a small courtyard section out the back.

I’ve been here about a dozen times and impressed every time. The coffee is a standout, the ambience great, service friendly and the food is wonderfully gourmet!

The counter is a hive of activity with sit down and take away coffees both popular. Be impressed by the displays of the home made sausage rolls, cakes, lamingtons, the amazing home made pies, and salads. You can choose a great meal from the counter or delve into the interesting and comprehensive menu.

I anticipated a European theme with such a name – but the theme is quintessentially Australian.

I didn't realise until several visits there were rooms upstairs! One of Bridge Rds well kept secrets. Came with a group and we were able to use the smaller upstairs room for lunch. Really minimalist furnishings and art work. Another time we sat at a long table in the larger upstairs room.

The food is amazing. Not fine dining but super gourmet treats... We dined with a table of 10 and everyone raving. The waitress lavished praise on her own chef saying 'she gives the food her love.' High praise indeed! Try the various pie boxes including lamb and pumpkin... The Angus steak sandwich was amazing... The sandwiches are great with fresh seed filled bread...

Coffee is great featuring one of Melbourne's best baristas. Great crema! Great aromas. The latte art is stunning!

This is one of those Melbourne establishments that strikes a gourmet and “foodie” chord. Gypsey and Musquito is an outstanding cafe in the Richmond precinct let alone the city of Melbourne.
