Comme is one of my favourites in Melbourne! Enter through the large doors into a world of French sophistication! Be impressed by a spacious dining area with class décor and awesome ambience! Every “foodie” must make the pilgrimage to Comme.

Menu options shout with excellence across breakfast, lunch and dinner. Let’s face it - some fine dining places do lunch and dinner seriously but make token gestures for breakfast. Comme provides great gourmet breakfast options! I loved the baked eggs with chorizo, tomato, croutons and olives. Absolutely superb! The coffee is also first class served in a thermo cup.

Love the dark parquetry floor! Love the lamps! Love the large artwork! Love the large windows on to Alfred Lane (with curtains drawn). The building itself is a grand old building having undergone stunning restoration!

Lunch and dinner options include spectacular “Plains Paddock” lamb, Beef sirloin “tongue and cheek”, and Crisp fillet of salmon. The desserts are stunning including Prunes in Armagnac and Cannoli of strawberry cream, jelly, rhubarb and basil! After 12 there is a great selection of tapas small meals. Or you may fancy a cheese plate!

Love the different eating areas including the stools, communal table, lounge chairs, and regular tables… Love the walnut leather backing for tables. Love the large bar area with massive inspirational flower arrangement.

Service is also first class! Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Seated me at a reserved table because the table reserve was for an hours time (and it was breakfast). Attentive service included greeting on arrival, prompt taking of orders, great explanation of menu options, fetching me the lunch and dinner menus to peruse, food and coffee arriving hot, asking for feedback on the breakfast, supplying me with a paper, explaining the tapas arrangement and a friendly farewell by two of the staff on a busy morning. All in all outstanding!!
