Campari House is a Melbourne institution in Hardware Lane. Come here for great ambience, fine food and great coffee! It has four amazing levels, with a restaurant on the ground floor, level 1 is a function area, then level 2 is a lounge, then there’s the sensational Rooftop! A level for every occasion!

Loving the Hardware lane scene, I visited Campari House for breakfast on a weekday and had a great experience. The ambience was inviting with brick floor, tables on Hardware Lane, dark timbers inside and cool lighting. A single waiter was taking charge of the scene and Arctic Monkeys were blaring through the speakers. As I hadn’t heard the latest Artic Monkeys offering in detail I decided to pull in!

The breakfast menu was surprisingly limited. I was looking for something expansive but had to settle for a humble but large ham, cheese and tomato toastie. It was generous in size and of great quality, and actually filled me up for breakfast.

The weekend breakfast menu is way more comprehensive with Eggs Benedict and The Works (eggs, bacon, pork sausage, hash brown, baked beans and tomato).

Lunch and Dinner menu is also comprehensive with options such as popular pork belly, 350g rib eye, pan fried gnocchi, great risotto, blue swimmer crab and market fish selection. The wood oven pizzas are extremely popular!

I was treated to some great customer service and newspapers given me to read. I enjoyed sitting in the area outside the café along sensational Hardware Lane. I noticed patrons of another café nearby looking at me – but I returned the “look” with a “my café is better than your café” kind of stare. The Arctic Monkeys would have been proud…

The coffee was also excellent! Great crema and taste! I love that the waiter signed me up to be part of the Campari House club – where you get excellent discounts. I duly signed up in anticipation of returning… I can’t find my card so I hope it’s on their system.

Love the artwork on the face of the building! Looking forward to returning – maybe to The Rooftop – armed with my membership card… A winner!
