State of Grace Bar Charm on Collins

State of Grace bar has launched with a bang in the Melbourne CBD on Collins St, another of The Publican stable which includes Campari House and Terra Rossa. State of Grace has a European flavour, something that Melbourne gels with big time. Set in a building that is heritage listed and dates to 1889 one can only summise the venue is now at its zenith after over 100 years with the advent of State of Grace.

Sneak past the secret door and discover a world of heady delights, this luxurious and eclectic retreat is a vivid assault to the senses.
Spanning two levels State of Grace offers two distinct areas; an underground cellar bar that plays host to a variety of live late night entertainment from Thursday – Saturday evenings and a bustling European style bistro on street level.

The launch promised a few surprises and didn't disappoint with a strong show of the theatrical. Canapes were served to Melbourne socialites and bar enthusiasts.

And a purple ice Unicorn!

Melbournians are looking for classy nighspots when it comes to enjoying a cocktail or two and State of Grace delivers. This looks like a grand English manor with modern twist. Check out the velvety curtains, the exposed brick, the chandelier, the plush couches and the raw floorboards and heavy timbers.

Live music is already planned downstairs at State of Grace, as well as deals for the pre theatre crowd.

A secret cellar bar is sure to be a hit with punters.

Interestingly State of Grace will be open for breakfast! A long day for someone.

These are the kind of bars I believe Melbourne is looking for with upmarket - even lavish - ambience and a sense of sophistication and occasion.

The bar is set to open any time soon with this being the pre-launch party.

I'm of the opinion The Publican group runs great venues and offers quality experiences across the board. Even though they are a large company each venue has its distinct identity and managers are given space to run the venues using their own flair.
